Microsoft Q2 2025 Roadmap

The first quarter of 2025 is complete, let's review the past quarter and what we might see exciting in security for the next quarter. Everything here is publicly available on the roadmap or my opinion based on some groundwork Microsoft has been laying in 2024.

Exchange Limit Changes in 2025

Yesterday Microsoft announced changes to Exchange sending limits. It sounds like individual sender recipient limits remain in-place but organizational (tenant-wide) limits will be implemented as well. This is interesting for a few reasons:

  • This is a long overdue change
  • This should make Microsoft mail delivery better
  • The impact should be minimal
  • What this means for the outbound anti-spam policy

SecOptimized Site Update - February 2025

I wanted to provide some notes on updates to the website since I am quite happy with how it has developed over the past few months. Since I started this website I have come up with...

  • A unique name with an available domain
  • A logo
  • Completed the initial documentation for MDO and MDCA
  • Added comments to the site

Microsoft Q1 2025 Roadmap

2024 has come to an end which means 2025 is here! I thought now would be a great time to share security features I am excited for in the next quarter as well as my expectations for 2025. Everything here is publicly available on the roadmap or my opinion based on some groundwork Microsoft has been laying in 2024.

Microsoft Ignite 2024

For many years I have looked to Ignite to see the latest and greatest and decide what I would try to bring to my organization next. Over the past few years I have been immersed in Microsoft security products such as Sentinel and Defender and have even had the privilege to see some upcoming features in private preview prior to release.

Attending digitally I left feeling there wasn't that usual excitement of the "next" thing coming. I don't think this is a bad thing though, many of us in IT have been in the trenches and know how busy working for an individual organization can be. You might go a year barely seeing what's new in the Windows release this year.

KustoCon 2024

The first inaugural KustoCon was hosted on November 8th, 2024. I have been working with KQL for many years and had been wanting to take my skills to the next level for some time. I just happened to see an announcement pertaining to this event a day before it was going to be hosted and felt quite fortunate to have seen that announcement!
