2024 has come to an end which means 2025 is here! I thought now would be a great time to share security features I am excited for in the next quarter as well as my expectations for 2025. For many years I have looked to Ignite to see the latest and greatest and decide what I would try to bring to my organization next. Over the past few years I have been immersed in Microsoft security products such as Sentinel and Defender and have even had the privilege to see some upcoming features in private preview prior to release.
Attending digitally I left feeling there wasn't that usual excitement of the "next" thing coming. I don't think this is a bad thing though, many of us in IT have been in the trenches and know how busy working for an individual organization can be. You might go a year barely seeing what's new in the Windows release this year.
The first inaugural KustoCon was hosted on November 8th, 2024. I have been working with KQL for many years and had been wanting to take my skills to the next level for some time. I just happened to see an announcement pertaining to this event a day before it was going to be hosted and felt quite fortunate to have seen that announcement!
